Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis' left ankle is "fine," bench coach Brad Mills told MLB Network on Tuesday.
Kipnis looked fine during pregame drills ahead of Tuesday's World Series matchup with the Chicago Cubs. He suffered a low ankle sprain while celebrating the final out of the American League Championship Series, but is good to go for Game 1. The 29-year-old is batting second and starting at second versus Cubs left-hander Jon Lester.
Kipnis is slashing .167/.219/.367 with a .251 wOBA in 32 plate appearances this postseason. He's knocked a couple of dingers while driving in four runs.
