John Lamb will begin 2017 on Reds' disabled list after back surgery
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher John Lamb will begin next season on the disabled list after undergoing surgery to repair a lumbar disc herniation.
This makes two consecutive years Lamb begins the year on the shelf due to rehab from back surgery. His 2016 was cut short due to a flexor mass strain, but he hadn't been doing too well, either way.
Lamb recorded a 6.43 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 18.2 strikeout percentage across 70 innings of work this season, all of which represent regression from his rookie year.
