Steve Cishek (hip) likely to begin 2017 on Mariners' disabled list
Seattle Mariners relief pitcher Steve Cishek will be sidelined for the next 4-6 months after having surgery last week to repair a torn labrum in his left hip.
Cishek missed some time this season, but returned in the second half. He's now decided to take care of the hip, however. Given that timetable, it seems probable that the reliever opens next year on Seattle's disabled list.
The 30-year-old right-hander turned in a 2.81 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and career-high 29.50 strikeout percentage across 64 innings of work this season.
