Josh Tomlin leads Indians to Game 2 victory

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Josh Tomlin yielded three hits, two walks and one run while providing six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in the Indians' win over the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday in Game 2 of the ALCS.

What It Means:

Going into the playoffs the Tribe were down two of their best starting pitchers, but Tomlin has stepped up to give the Indians a 1-2 punch atop their rotation with Corey Kluber. Tomlin induced 10 ground ball outs with a steady diet of breaking balls on Saturday to help the Tribe continue their undefeated postseason.

Tomlin had a forgettable 4.40 ERA and 4.13 xFIP over 174 innings pitched in the regular season. However, so far through two postseason starts, the Indians' flame thrower has a 2.53 ERA.
