Cubs sending Jon Lester to mound for Game 1 of NLCS
Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester will start Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday in Chicago, manager Joe Maddon said on Thursday while talking to the media.
Kyle Hendricks is expected to toe the rubber in Game 2, with Jake Arrieta manning the mound Game 3 and John Lackey in line for Game 4. In Lester's single appearance in the Divisional Series, he twirled eight innings of shutout ball. The Cubs' comeback win on Tuesday night in Game 4 of the NLDS went a long ways towards aligning their rotation for the next round.
The Cubs sit as numberFire's heavy favorites to win the World Series, with a 42.7 percent chance of hoisting the trophy.
