Carlos Beltran intends to play again next season
Texas Rangers outfielder Carlos Beltran said Tuesday that he plans to keep playing in 2017.
Beltran may be turning 40 by the start of next season, but it didn't show at the plate in 2016. He slugged 29 dingers and 93 RBI's over 151 games, putting up his best clips since his 2012 campaign. The veteran outfielder stated his intentions to return to action next year on Tuesday. He was traded to the Rangers at the August 1 deadline, but will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Beltran slashed an impressive .295/.337/.513 through 593 plate appearances with both the Rangers and New York Yankees this season, while his .358 wOBA was his best since 2013 and his .217 ISO was his best since 2012.
