Clayton Kershaw (back) likely taking mound for Dodgers Game 4

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is tentatively expected to replace Julio Urias as starter for Game 4 of the National League Divisional Series against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday.

What It Means:

Per Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, there are "signs pointing to" Kershaw getting the call instead of Urias on Tuesday night. Facing elimination, the Dodgers sound like they prefer their ace on short rest, over the 20-year-old rookie. The Nationals' Game 4 starter is also unknown.

Kershaw did his part in Game 1 of the NLDS, conceding three runs on eight hits through five innings while picking up the valuable postseason victory. The 28-year-old southpaw finished the regular season with an impressive 1.69 ERA and 0.76 WHIP over 149 innings pitched. His 31.6 strikeout rate was the third time in as many seasons he has recorded a clip above 30.0 percent.
