Nationals' Stephen Strasburg (elbow) throws another pen session

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg (elbow) threw a bullpen session Monday morning at Dodger Stadium.

What It Means:

It was his second mound workout since he re-injured his pitching elbow in early September, and he was able to work in his curveball for the first time. FOX Sports' Jon Morosi says the Nationals are hopeful Strasburg will be ready to pitch in Game 4 of the NLCS, should they advance past the Dodgers in the best-of-five Division Series. Strasburg has made just one postseason appearance in his illustrious seven-year major league career.

In that one outing back in 2014, Strasburg gave up two runs (one earned) on eight hits across five innings. He struck out a pair and walked one. During the 2016 regular season, he posted a 3.60 ERA and 3.19 SIERA in 147 2/3 innings, while his 30.6 percent strikeout rate was his best since his 2010 rookie campaign.
