Blue Jays' Roberto Osuna (shoulder) expected to be ready Friday
Toronto Blue Jays running back Roberto Osuna (shoulder) "should be OK" to pitch in Game 2 of the American League Divisional Series on Friday, said manager John Gibbons.
Osuna was sidelined for Game 1, but the Blue Jays managed just fine, thrashing the Texas Rangers 10-1 to take an early one-game series lead. Gibbons said he will double-check prior to Friday's outing, but it appears Osuna will be available for a potential save opportunity. Right shoulder soreness forced him to be an early exit from Toronto's Wild Card Game victory.
The 21-year-old Osuna turned in another solid year, posting a 2.68 ERA and 2.87 SIERA through 74 regular season innings. His 28.5 percent strikeout rate and 4.9 percent walk rate were both improvements from his already solid rookie numbers in 2015.
