Marco Estrada dominates Rangers, Blue Jays take 1-0 lead in ALDS
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marco Estrada allowed one run in 8 1/3 innings as the Blue Jays lit up the Texas Rangers 10-1 in Game 1 of the American League Divisional Series on Thursday.
Estrada almost had his first career complete game and shutout, but Elvis Andrus spoiled the party with a leadoff triple in the ninth. Shin-Soo Choo then ended Estrada's day with an RBI groundout. It was still a gem of an outing for the 25-year-old right-hander, who allowed just four hits with no walks and six strikeouts. J.A. Happ takes the mound Friday for Toronto as they try to take a 2-0 lead against Yu Darvish and the Rangers.
Estrada has now twirled a 1.95 ERA through his first four postseason starts with the Blue Jays (27 2/3 innings).
