Mets 'fully expect' Yoenis Cespedes to offer his services to open market

New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is "fully expected" to opt out of his contract and test the free agent market, per Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.

What It Means:

Cespedes can opt-out of the deal he signed last offseason five days after the World Series. He's currently due $47.5 million over the next two years, but will probably double that number by entering the free agent market this winter.

In his age-30 season, Cespedes slashed .280/.354/.530 with a career-high .884 OPS. He added 31 home runs and 86 RBI's in 543 plate appearances.
