Roberto Osuna's (shoulder) Game 1 status up in air for Blue Jays
Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said he's unsure whether reliever Roberto Osuna (shoulder) will be available for Game 1 of the American League Divisional Series against the Texas Rangers on Thursday.
Gibbons likely knows Osuna's status, and is simply unsure when he's going to share it with the media. The 21-year-old right-hander was lifted from Tuesday night's Wild Card Game victory due to minor discomfort in his right shoulder after 1 1/3 innings of hitless work. Francisco Liriano and Jason Grilli would be the next best options for Toronto.
The 21-year-old Osuna turned in another solid year, posting a 2.68 ERA and 2.87 SIERA through 74 regular season innings. His 28.5 percent strikeout rate and 4.9 percent walk rate were both improvements from his already solid rookie numbers in 2015.
