Noah Syndergaard stellar, earns no-decision in Mets' Wild Card loss
New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard dazzled in the National League Wild Card Game on Wednesday, striking out 10 over seven shutout innings, but ultimately earned a no-decision as the Mets fell 3-0 to the San Francisco Giants.
He carried a no-hitter through five innings, and ended up allowing only two hits and three walks in the outing.
The outstanding performance caps off a great sophomore season for Syndergaard. He posted a 2.60 ERA and 2.95 SIERA through 183 2/3 innings. His 29.3 percent strikeout rate was an improvement from his 2015 rookie number, while he posted a 5.8 percent walk rate.
