Bartolo Colon, Robert Gsellman could start Game 1 of NLDS if Mets advance
New York Mets pitchers Bartolo Colon or Robert Gsellman would start Game 1 of the National League Divisional Series in the event that they advance past the San Francisco Giants in Wednesday's Wild Card Game.
Colon will also be available out of the bullpen on Wednesday, but if he's not used and they advance, he would get the nod for the Mets in Game 1 of the Divisional Series. If Colon is needed to secure a victory over the Giants, Gsellman will take the mound for Friday's series opener.
Across 191 2/3 innings this season, Colon recorded a 3.43 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 16.2 strikeout percentage.
