Daniel Murphy (glute) does running drills for Nationals Wednesday

Washington Nationals infielder Daniel Murphy (glute) did sprints in the outfield and ran the bases Wednesday.

What It Means:

Murphy said afterward that "it was a good day today" as things continue to look promising in regards to his status for Game 1 of the National League Divisional Series. He successfully ran from second to home without any noticeable discomfort, according to Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com. The 31-year-old hasn't been in the starting lineup since September 17 due to a strained left glute.

Murphy enjoyed career-highs across the board with a .347/.390/.595 slash, .408 wOBA and .249 ISO in 582 plate appearances during the season. His 25 home runs and 104 RBI's are also the most he's put up in a single year.
