Jon Lester getting the call for Cubs in Game 1 Friday
Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester will start Game 1 of the National League Divisional Series on Friday.
Whether their opponent winds up being the New York Mets or San Francisco Giants, manager Joe Maddon has already committed to his rotation. After Lester will be Kyle Hendricks, Jake Arrieta and John Lackey.
Lester has been stellar this season, evidenced by a career-best 2.44 ERA. His 3.47 xFIP and 3.61 SIERA over 202 2/3 innings this season are both higher than his 2015 campaign, but the 32 year-old southpaw has a hard hit rate of just 26.8 percent this season, his best since 2011.
