Yu Darvish strikes out 12 in Rangers' victory
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Yu Darvish was dominant in Friday's victory over the Tampa Rays, striking out 12 batters over six innings of one-run ball.
Darvish only rendered three hits and walked one over his time on the hill. Evan Longoria got him for an RBI double in the sixth, but that was the only downside of an impressive performance. Texas' 1-2 punch of Darvish and Cole Hamels atop their rotation is going to be scary in the playoffs.
Darvish owns a 3.41 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over 100 1/3 innings this season. While his year has been shortened due to injury, he has still posted a nice 3.20 xFIP and 3.08 SIERA.
