Jonathan Schoop drives in five runs as Orioles topple Yankees

Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jonathan Schoop went 2-for-4 with a homer and matched a career-high with five RBI's in Friday’s 8-1 victory over the New York Yankees.

What It Means:

Schoop was without an RBI for 15 days until Friday. He knocked in two runs with a double in the fourth inning before smashing a three-run dinger in the fifth inning. Even though he has fallen off some in the second half, the young second baseman is still having a great season.

Schoop is slashing .265/.297/.452 with a .319 wOBA over 640 plate appearances this season. He has 25 homers and 82 RBI's, all while lowering his strikeout rate to 21.3, the lowest mark of his career since breaking into the majors.
