Jean Segura makes early exit for Arizona Thursday with apparent injury

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Jean Segura left Thursday's game against the Washington Nationals early with an apparent injury.

What It Means:

The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro reports that Segura "may have tweaked his side or maybe his back" during an at-bat in the seventh inning. Any injury this late in the season could mean the end of the 2016 campaign for Segura.

It has certainly been the best year of Segura's career from the dish, as he is slashing .319/.366/.498 through 679 plate appearances, with a .370 wOBA and .179 ISO that both represent career-highs.
