Washington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy (glute) is once again out of the lineup as the Nationals take on the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday.
A strained glute has kept Murphy out of the starting lineup since September 17. He is expected to be ready for the playoffs though, and has already managed some pinch-hitting appearances. Wilmer Difo will start in Murphy's place at second base and bat second on Thursday.
The 31-year-old Murphy is enjoying career-highs across the board with a .347/.391/.596 slash, .409 wOBA and .249 ISO in 581 plate appearances. His 25 home runs and 104 RBI's are also the most he's put up in a season.
