Carlos Gomez swats a three-run homer as Rangers top Milwaukee
Texas Rangers center fielder Carlos Gomez blasted a three-run home run as part of a 3-for-4 day from the plate on Wednesday as the Rangers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-5.
The was tied 5-5 when Gomez stepped to the plate with two on and two outs in the bottom of the eighth, taking a Tyler Thornburg offering deep to score what proved to be the deciding runs of the game.
Gomez has struggled from the dish this season, slashing .232/.300/.388 through 447 plate appearances, with a .298 wOBA that is his worst since 2011.
