Cardinals sitting Albert Pujols Tuesday due to foot discomfort

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols is out Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics due to renewed foot discomfort.

What It Means:

According to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register, Pujols status for the Angels' final five games is up in the air. He's been hampered by plantar fasciitis since his peak years in St. Louis with the Cardinals and it continues to flare up from time to time. Mike Trout is playing designated hitter on Tuesday night and C.J. Cron is starting at first against Athletics right-hander Daniel Mengden.

Pujols has been decent from the dish this year, slashing .268/.323/.457 with a .331 wOBA and .189 ISO through 650 plate appearances.
