Cardinals welcome Aledmys Diaz (personal) back to lineup

St. Louis Cardinals Aledmys Diaz is back in the lineup on Tuesday night against the Cincinnati Reds.

What It Means:

The Cardinals excused Diaz from the team on Monday to allow him to visit and mourn with the family of his late friend Jose Fernandez in Miami. Diaz returns Tuesday and will start at shortstop while hitting seventh against Reds right-hander Robert Stephenson.

Diaz owns a .301/.370/.510 slash and impressive .880 OPS during his first year in the majors. He's combined that with 16 home runs and 66 RBI's across 435 plate appearances.
