Bryce Harper (thumb) not in the lineup for Washington on Tuesday
Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper (thumb) is not in the lineup on Tuesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
X-rays on his thumb came back negative, but he will get another day off to recover. Brian Goodwin will start in Harper's place in right field on Tuesday.
Harper's hot start faded almost as quickly as it started earlier this season and now with the year almost over, he is slashing .244/.375/.444 with a .345 wOBA over 614 plate appearances. He has 24 homers and 85 RBI's while lowering his strikeout rate to a career-best 17.8 percent.
