X-rays come back negative on Nationals' Bryce Harper's thumb
Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper (thumb) had X-rays on his thumb, and they came back negative according to manager Dusty Baker.
Harper hurt his thumb sliding into third base on Sunday, but the swelling has already gone down, and he will likely be good to go for the playoffs.
Harper's hot start faded almost as quickly as it started earlier this season and now with the year almost over, he is slashing .244/.375/.444 with a .345 wOBA over 614 plate appearances. He has 24 homers and 85 RBI's while lowering his strikeout rate to a career-best 17.8 percent.
