Yankees' Masahiro Tanaka (forearm) could be shut down
New York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka (forearm) will see Dr. Christopher Ahmad in New York on Tuesday to determine whether he can make another start before the end of the season.
A mild forearm strain forced Tanaka to be scratched from Monday's start against the Toronto Blue Jays. His status is up in the air, but there should be some clarity within the next couple days.
Tanaka has recorded a 3.07 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 20.5 strikeout percentage over 199 2/3 innings this season. He is standing on a 14-4 record (31 starts).
