Indians' Danny Salazar (forearm) throws off mound
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Danny Salazar (forearm) threw 20-plus pitches off the mound on Monday.
Indians pitching coach Mickey Callaway said "it would be nice" to get Salazar a relief appearance before the playoffs, though it's unclear whether he'll have enough time to do so. The 26-year-old right-hander is heading in the right direction.
Salazar has posted a 3.75 xFIP and an impressive 27.6 strikeout percentage (league average is 21.1 percent) across 137 1/3 innings this season. He owns an 11-6 record in 25 starts.
