Blue Jays expected to give Roberto Osuna, Joaquin Benoit night off
Toronto Blue Jays relief pitchers Roberto Osuna and Joaquin Benoit are expected to get the day off Monday.
Osuna blew a save on Sunday and has thrown 38 pitches over the past two days. Benoit threw 24 pitches in Sunday's loss. If necessary, expect Jason Grilli to get the save opportunity when Toronto takes on the New York Yankees on Monday.
Osuna owns a 2.61 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and impressive 30.1 strikeout percentage across 69 innings this year, along with four blown saves. The 21-year-old right-hander's 3.57 xFIP is almost a full point higher than his ERA, but his 1.9 Wins Above Replacement rank 13th-best among qualified relievers.
