Detroit Tigers pitcher Jordan Zimmermann could start Saturday against the Atlanta Braves.
Zimmerman made an impressive relief appearance versus the Kansas City Royals on Sunday, striking out four and giving up just one run across three innings. It was his first appearance since September 10. Despite the appealing matchup, the 30-year-old right-hander makes for a risky fantasy play Saturday against the Braves due to the restricted workload.
Zimmermann's 4.76 xFIP is a career-worst and the first time he's posted a total above 3.92. His 14.8 strikeout percentage is also a career-worst and well below the league-average (21.1 percent).
