Oakland Athletics pitcher Jharel Cotton spun seven innings of one-run ball, striking out five as the A's beat the Texas Rangers 7-1.
That makes only one earned run allowed for Cotton in each of his four big league starts as a rookie, while he has pitched a total of 25 innings.
Cotton is benefiting from a .159 BABIP, though, and his 4.51 SIERA on the season is a lot less encouraging. He also posted a 4.90 ERA in 22 Triple-A starts this year.
