Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Michael Fulmer was fantastic in Friday's victory over the Kansas Royals, piling up nine strikeouts over seven innings of one-run ball.
Fulmer didn't walk anyone and allowed eight hits on the night to get a crucial win for the Tigers, who are trying to hang on to a wildcard spot. The rookie righty did allow a run on an infield single, but other than that he was once again fantastic on the hill for Detroit.
Fulmer has a 2.95 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 155 2/3 innings this season. His 3.88 xFIP in his first major league season ranks 33rd among qualified pitchers and he owns a 3.97 SIERA.
