Angels' Ricky Nolasco spins seven shutout innings Thursday
Los Angeles Angels pitcher Ricky Nolasco shut out the Houston Astros over seven innings on Thursday as the Angels went on to pick up a 2-0 win.
This was Nolasco's second straight shutout start, bringing him up to three in his last five.
Nolasco is having a rough season, with a 4.37 SIERA that is his worst since his five-game rookie year in 2007. He's allowing 1.23 home runs per nine with a 5.3 percent walk rate with a 1.26 WHIP through 189 2/3 innings pitched this season.
