Orioles push back Kevin Gausman with intercostal strain
Baltimore Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman will not start on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to soreness in his intercostal area.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter believes dehydration could be the cause of the soreness. He's optimistic that Gausman will be able to pitch on Tuesday or Wednesday against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Dylan Bundy is now starting on Sunday for Baltimore.
Through 166 1/3 innings pitched this season, Gausman has a 3.57 ERA and 3.76 SIERA, as well as a 23.7 percent strikeout rate and 6.3 percent walk rate.
