Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte (back) is back in the lineup Thursday.
Marte has been dealing with lingering back spasms and this will be his first start since September 5. He's handling left field for the Pirates and hitting second against the Milwaukee Brewers and right-hander Chase Anderson. Marte made a pinch-hit appearance in Wednesday's game.
Marte's 47 stolen bases this year are the second-most in the majors, and he is slashing .310/.361/.456 with a .350 wOBA through 527 plate appearances this season.
