Chase Headley (back) returns to Yankees' lineup

New York Yankees third baseman Chase Headley (back) has returned to the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

What It Means:

An MRI revealed no structural damage after tightness in his back kept Headley out for three straight contests. He should be good for the rest of the season and will start at third base for the Yankees while hitting sixth against Rays southpaw Blake Snell.

Headley has been performing below expectations this season, with a .257/.333/.394 slash and .315 wOBA that are both off from his career-averages. He has 14 home runs and 50 RBI's in 496 plate appearances.
