Jay Bruce out again for Mets

New York Mets outfielder Jay Bruce is sitting again Thursday against the Atlanta Braves.

What It Means:

The Mets are rolling with Curtis Granderson in right and Alejandro De Aza in center, the same formation they used Wednesday when Bruce was held out of the starting lineup. He struck out in a pinch-hit spot in the bottom of the ninth as the Mets lost 4-3 to the Braves.

Bruce has struggled to a .175/.253/.287 slash in 158 plate appearances since being traded from the Cincinnati Reds at the August 1 deadline.
