Kris Bryant leaves Cubs game Sunday after headfirst slide
Bryant left the Cubs game yesterday after feeling dizzy following a headfirst slide into second base. After the game Cubs manager Joe Maddon said "He's a little bit dizzy at the moment. We believe he's fine. I think he's going to be fine actually."
What It Means:
It doesn't sound like a serious injury but it seems Bryant's status for Monday is uncertain. Even if he's in the lineup, he has a tough matchup against Pirates lefty Francisco Liriano. Against right-handers Liriano is giving up a .261 wOBA, has a 2.83 xFIP, and a 28.8 strikeout percentage. His strikeout rate against righties is 10th among all starters which would spell trouble for Bryant who strikes out 30.6 percent of the time. Our projections reflect that as Bryant is expected to rank outside the top 10 third basemen on the major daily fantasy sites today.
