Detroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez (knee) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
What It Means:
Martinez was also absent for Tuesday's contest. He's been dealing with swelling in his right knee since being plunked on Sunday. Justin Upton is filling in as the Tigers' designated hitter against the Twins Wednesday and will hit fifth.
Martinez is slashing an impressive .287/.346/.466 with 24 homers, 77 RBI's and a .344 wOBA over 578 plate appearances this season.
