Khris Davis (illness) out of the lineup again as Oakland faces Astros
Oakland Athletics left fielder Khris Davis (illness) is once again out of the lineup for the A's as they take on the Houston Astros on Wednesday.
Davis was a late scratch on Tuesday due to his illness, and he will get at least one more day off, as Jake Smolinski gets the start in left field and bats ninth.
The 28-year-old Davis is slashing .252/.307/.529 through 573 plate appearances this season, with a .351 wOBA and .277 ISO. His 40 home runs are fourth-most in the majors and shattered his previous career-high of 27.
