St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Aledmys Diaz is back in the starting lineup Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies.
Diaz was on the shelf six weeks with a fractured right thumb and is still working on building the strength back up in his throwing arm, so Jedd Gyorko filled in for him at short on Tuesday.
Diaz owns a .303/.386/.516 slash and impressive .884 OPS during his first year in the majors. He's combined that with 16 home runs and 61 RBI's across 426 plate appearances.
