Rays' Steven Souza to undergo hip surgery
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Steven Souza will undergo season-ending surgery Wednesday for a left hip impingement.
Souza was sidelined for a month due to an issue with his left hip and he is going to go ahead and get that taken care of. He should be ready for spring training.
Souza is slashing .247/.303/.409 with a .308 wOBA over 468 plate appearances this season. He has 17 homers and 49 RBI's, but his 34.0 strikeout percentage is a disturbing trend after last year's 33.8 percent clip.
