Wei-Yin Chen (elbow) to start for Marlins on Monday
Miami Marlins starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen (elbow) will rejoin the rotation on Monday versus the Washington Nationals.
The southpaw has been on the shelf with a left elbow sprain since late July. Chen successfully completed a couple of simulated games recently after looking like a poor bet to play a meaningful role for the Marlins this season.
Chen owns a career-high 4.99 ERA over 110 innings pitched this season, while his 4.24 xFIP is the worst since his rookie year in 2012. His 19.1 strikeout percentage is also below the big league average (21.0 percent).
