Kansas City Royals pitcher Jason Vargas (elbow) will make his first start of the season on Saturday at home against the Chicago White Sox.
Vargas underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery last July and hasn't thrown a major league inning since. The 33-year-old southpaw is expected to be limited to about three innings versus the Chicago White Sox Saturday. He's not on the fantasy radar in standard leagues.
Vargas twirled a 5.85 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 30.7 strikeout percentage across 20 minor league innings (six starts).
