Andrew Benintendi back in action for Boston
Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi is starting in left field and batting ninth Thursday versus the New York Yankees.
This is Benintendi's first game since August 24. He suffered what looked to be a severe left knee sprain, but should play regularly over the final couple weeks of the season, assuming the knee holds up.
Benintendi is slashing .324/.365/.485 in 74 plate appearances this season. He made his big league debut on August 2 and has hit one home run, stolen one base and recorded a .362 wOBA with an .850 OPS.
