Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer (quads) is back in the lineup for Thursday's road clash with the Detroit Tigers.
What It Means:
Mauer has been dealing with nagging quad injuries for a couple of weeks, and has been out of the lineup since Saturday. He will bat third as the designated hitter in his return on Thursday.
Mauer is slashing .269/.368/.401 through 557 plate appearances this year. his .333 wOBA and .132 ISO are both his best marks since 2013.
