Astros' Jose Altuve leaves game with right oblique discomfort
Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was removed from the game against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday with discomfort in his right oblique.
If this only proves to be discomfort, Altuve could be back soon, but oblique strains tend to take about three weeks to return from, and if it is more serious than discomfort, Altuve is at risk of losing the rest of his season.
Altuve is having a terrific year from the dish, slashing .341/.401/.551 through 647 plate appearances, with career-highs in both wOBA (.399) and ISO (.210).
