New York Mets infielder Wilmer Flores will have his sore right wrist examined by a doctor on Thursday.
Flores was involved in an ugly collision at home-plate with A.J. Pierzynski on Saturday night, and he has been dealing with discomfort in his neck and wrist since. X-rays taken in Atlanta over the weekend fortunately came back negative, but Flores is still not able to swing a bat. Expect an update sometime Thursday afternoon.
Flores is enjoying a career-year, recording new highs with a .267/.319/.469 slash, .336 wOBA and .202 ISO across 335 plate appearances this season. He has added 16 home runs, matching his career-high set last year.
