San Francisco Giants closer Hunter Strickland will continue to receive save chances, manager Bruce Bochy said.
Strickland had been doing well prior to a four-run, three-hit ninth inning in a brutal loss to the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. Bochy did state that matchups could play a factor at times, so the situation in the Giants' bullpen remains somewhat flexible. Steven Okert is the other likely candidate.
Through 58 1/3 innings, Strickland's 3.24 ERA has taken a leap from last year's 2.45 clip. His 22.2 strikeout percentage is below his 24.6 career-average.
