Angels' Tyler Skaggs (forearm) to undergo MRI

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs will not make his scheduled start against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, and will instead undergo an MRI on his left forearm.

What It Means:

This news is seemingly coming out of nowhere, as Skaggs has been dealing well lately, and is coming off of a six-inning shutout performance in his last start. This is the first year back form Tommy John surgery for the 25-year-old, so expect the Angels to exercise a lot of caution with him.

Skaggs has managed a 4.13 ERA and 4.20 SIERA through 9 starts this season, with a 23.8 percent strikeout rate and 10.0 percent walk rate in 48 inning pitched.
