Ryan Schimpf smacks three-run go-ahead blast
San Diego Padres infielder Ryan Schimpf rocked a go-ahead three-run homer in the ninth inning of Tuesday's 6-4 win over the San Francisco Giants.
The home run gives Schimpf 19 of them for his rookie campaign. He now has three home runs and nine RBI's through 11 September contests (46 plate appearances).
The 28-year-old second baseman is slashing .229/.339/.576 through 280 plate appearances this season. He has posted a .376 wOBA and .347 ISO with 47 RBI's.
